One down, one to go

So, tonight was Grandma's visitation. It was one of those nice, mostly awkward deals where I hardly knew anybody who came so I didn't talk to anybody. Miracle of miracles, all of my dad's siblings were civil and - dare I say it - nice to each other the entire time. I think one way to make it through situations where you don't know anyone is to remind yourself why you're there - in this instance, not really for other family members, but for yourself and for your grandmother and your memories of her.

As trite as it sounds... vibes, and I hope the inevitable squabbles over your grandmother's possessions don't become something that tarnishes your memory of her or of the funeral.
