I thought it was very touching that William gave Kate his mother's engagement ring. They make a lovely young couple and I hope they have a very happy marriage.
I am happy for them, but also sad for them. Life will not be easy. I hope that their love and determination to succeed has a great base developed over their eight years together as friends and lovers.
I think it's lovely Wills gave Kate his Mother's engagement ring. I hope it brings them great luck. Such a bittersweet moment for Wills. :)
agree Robin, I think it was a bittersweet moment for William. His happiness will be tinged with sadness that his mother is not there to celebrate with them
I do love that ring! It is absolutely gorgeous! And a most sentimental choice! Thumbs up for the lad!
When my nephew proposed to his now wife, he gave her an amethyst ring that had been given to my mom from my dad (The Boy's Oma & Opa!) I love it that their family is so important to them.
I hope they do manage to make this work, I really do.
I have mixed feelings about the ring. It comes from a marriage which, for whatever reason, didn't work or end well, and much as I understand William's attachment to it...if it was me, I think I would prefer to start off without comparisons, which are somewhat inevitable as it is.
That's what I was thinking. A superstitious person might avoid using it; then again, he might assume all the bad luck it had to offer has been used up.

I was more thinking, a fresh start might be the better choice, even if it is a beautiful ring.:)
