You are completely right about the learning styles. And in the end, there is always a question of wondering if people are good at what they like or if they like what they do well in...

I remember one time in Calculus in Mrs. Rhinehart's class, I actually cried when I didn't understand what we were going over and I was getting the wrong answer on the calculator every time... I mean, I made sure nobody noticed, but still. Suddenly I realized I didn't actually like math, it was just because I understood it that I "liked" it. Sometimes I don't like that fact that there is only one answer...

THEN last night I watched "when the purple settles," a production written by one of the professors at W&M and honestly i still don't understand much of it. i didn't cry about it, but i'm def envious of the people who can understand "artsy stuff."

i wonder that too. i always put a lot more effort into things I know i have a shot at understanding, you know? i seem to like things that make sense to me, but then again, things i like make sense to me too... most of the time.
