As my final project for my summer graduate class on creativity I am going to write a paper on the evolution of anime fandom in America, and I would appreciate any and all memories you are willing to share with me. My teacher was fascinated when I told her I got into the fandom because in the late 1980s early 1990s it was possible to tell science

Well, I can share the story that I shared with Noboru Ishiguru at Otakon this year. This is slightly expanded upon

Of course, fandoms do tend to intertwine, and if you want to trace this story back from my side of things, it was because I showed up at the Penn State Monty Python Society meeting my freshman year that I met sector_r and thus unknowingly began the trajectory that led to me and toanstation finding each other.

So you can thank Ishiguro. I should probably also thank the surviving Pythons!
