Some of us still hang out here. It is pretty different. But we'd love to play with you if you're game! (It's been a long time, wow. You encouraged me to finish my first short story and you don't even remember that I bet, but we have missed you in these parts now that you are all big and famous!)
Neither big nor famous and currently so happy to see you, I can't begin to say! ( Actually, my long silence was due to more of a combination of "acute nervousness slash performance anxiety," a liberal dose of "health issues," seasoned by "discomfort on LJ itself due to the hackitude with Shoebox a while back." But all that is a long and winding story full of much boredom for all, I'm sure! Having attempted to write it way too many times, I've realized this, if nothing else! )
How have you been? What have you been writing? More, I hope!
Famous-ish! I picked up your last book at the Lexington public library! That shit doesn't even happen. It was brand new, even. Trufax.
(Well I'm glad you've overcome the anxiety and skittishness-- what happened to shoebox was totally whack-- and hope your health issues are doing better and you are as glad to be back as we all are to see you.)
I didn't write for a while when college was crazy and I got super depressed and had personal relationship drama, (it happens) but I'm starting it up again-- I feel so much better when I do. I run an award-winning book review column for my school paper which is pretty neat, but fiction is my true love and my dearest hope is to someday have practiced enough that my plots are not automatically stupid.
... The nostalgia bomb that icon just leveled at me - words can't describe the feeling. Hey! How have you been? ( Spoiler: Absolutely Amazing is the only answer I will accept, or all variations thereon! )
Oh, how I love this icon, haha. All things considering, I'm pretty wonderful. I hope you're well. It's good to see you on here again. I'll be honest, I saw your post on facebook and zipped right over, haha.
Many, many thanks! ( And I won't lie, since I tend to associate all people with their default icons, this is another one that rocketed me back in time to the good old days. ( And now I'm in the double-parenthetical zone, but how has it been so very very long? ) )
Those double parentheses! So awkward! Thank you so much and needless to say, how I have missed you!
As your icon picks its nose, I wipe a single crystal tear of joy from my eye ( while singing the fond refrain of the chimbley sweep, which I like to think is your theme song. Well, obviously! ) There aren't nearly enough coded hearts in the world.
