This chapter was quite melancholy. His mind can’t take it in, how many shoes, how many baseball hats there are now that’ll never be worn again. It was also slower paced since it was from the perspective of someone who just woke from an approximately 36 hr limbo. But that's good. There's going to be downtime, even during a zombie apocalypse. And a story full of only highs burns out quickly. This chapter gives nice pacing.

I was...kind of getting exhausted by the fic at this point. The interminable slog of it. About here is when I started figuring out what kind of story I wanted to tell. Hilariously enough.
