I only have 200 pages left-the good guys are losing a bunch of battles. I couldn't find Clash of Kings in two used book stores. ARGH! I might have to buy it new.
I'm not sure when it hooked me, but I think that it was pretty early. There's some (very little) dialouge and some imagery (all the kids have a wolf etc) but he tells such a great story that I don't care. Also, his pacing is incredible-talk about never a dull moment.
I sent Clash of Kings back to my dad, but I still have Storm of Swords I think. I definetly love not being able to completely like or dislike the characters. Actually, that's a lie. I completely dislike Sansa Stark. If she were a real person I think I'd kick her in the head. The story is awesome, it kind of turns standard sword & sorcery ideas on their heads. Pretty cool.
