Warped Tour: The Academy Is...
So I told you in my Cobra Starship post that I left their set early to get to the TAI pit.
I was about halfway back, so I definitely had to use the zoom on my camera. And it was dying, so almost ALL my pictures turned out blurry. It was hot, sweaty, and if you crowdsurfed during their set, I hope you get an STD. It seemed like the only thing half the people there wanted to do was crowdsurf, and this is why my videos are so sporadic and well, jumpy. Mix that with the fact that it seemed like everyone in front of me seemed to be ten feet TALLER THAN ME. But I think I was mostly just frustrated because OMG IT WAS SO HOT.
So I guess I'll show you my crappy pics, first. Like I said, my battery was dying and it wanted to focus on everything BUT what I wanted it to focus on.

Onto the videos. Be patient because if it turns away from the stage, I'm helping (or avoiding) a crowdsurfer. Sorry if some of them ARE so short (and blurry) because it was my first TAI experience and I wanted to participate as well. Sound is EXCELLENT though. Especially when my finger isn't covering the mic LoL.

I hate that I only got one vid of Checkmarks. I was just SO into the song and I totally forgot about my camera. lol. But I'm sure most of you have already seen this one.
So after I immediately go buy a bottle of water, I finally meet up with Layla and symmetry at the AT&T tent for the Cobra signing. Only the line is too long and they cut it off. We could have stuck around, but we decided to head over to the AP tent for the TAI signing instead.
We waited at that tent for close to two hours, but we're pretty close to the front of the line.
While we were waiting in line this guy comes over and tells us that if we recylcle at least ONE water bottle, we get a sticker that guarenteed us an autograph. So of course we hand over our empty water bottles.
I never thought of 21 as a lucky number, but it totally is now.
So as I'm rounding the corner of the tent, I can see the boys. Naturally, I start taking pics of things that I really shouldn't be taking pics of XD
My camera hates me. It truly does.
WTF SHARPIE?!?! Arrgh.
Tony the tattling tour manager tells Beckett I'm taking pics of his ass. He gets this "You've got to be kidding me" look on his face, turns to us -SMILES, and then waves at us. Don't think he didn't give me a "I know what you did there" look, because he did. lol. (Inserts text from previous LJ entry) Needless to say when I got to him, he fucked with me. He was asking me where to sign and I just told him anywhere, so then he proceeds to point to various places on the page and be like "here? here? how about here?" It was his pretty much payback in his own adorable way. And yes, he is a gazillion times more adorable in real life. It was the best thirty seconds of my life.
Next in the signing was Butcher. I never really made eye contact with him though because Beckett leaned over and whispered in his ear while pointing to the Sleeping With Giants Tour sticker on the book I made them sign. It was super hot. So by the time I get to Carden I'm still staring at Butcher when he waves at me. I finally look at him and he kind of smirks and waves again, to which I waved back like an idiot. Mike Carden has the most amazing eyes of any man I've ever seen. They're not cute doe eyes like Becketts, but they're these piercing light green eyes that are just...seducing. Pictures and video don't do Carden justice. He is SO MUCH HOTTER in real life.
So I get to Sisky and can I just say that the boy is super adorable? For serious? I know he gets a lot of flack about his ego and whatnot, but he's like, the older brother everyone wishes they had. He loved my SWG sticker too, and he signed my book and put T.A.I under his signature, which he didn't do with Layla's or Jersey's. It made me feel special. He gave me thumbs up and grinned at me. I totally fell in love with him and gave him thumbs up back.
Finally it was Chislett. He signed the book and handed it back to me. I thanked him and he was all 'you're very welcome' in that hotass Austrailian accent. Seriously, his voice makes direct contact to the groin. It was insane.
Layla had the guys sign her sketchbook. It was cute because while Becks was looking through them, Butcher was leaning over his shoulder at the same time, and Carden was trying to see too. Sisky told her she was really talented. So she had a great experience too. And you will soon read about Jersey's.
It was the greatest moment of my life, guys. Seriously. Meeting these guys that I've been crazy over for the past six or seven months was just...indescribable. I also saw Jack the Camera Guy carrying around THE briefcase. I yelled at him and waved. He waved back but didn't stop. He was walking like he was on a mission.
After that the three of us needed a break so we head up to the FBR merch tents and sit on a hill behind someone's tent, but I can see the TAI tent from where I'm sitting. No, no one showed up because I was watching.
Did meet Ziggy, though. And I tipped him just because ya know, he's TAI family and whatnot.
Bought this shirt cause it was shiny. I like shiny things.
I now have 4 TAI shirts and 1 TAI hoodie, 1 Cobra shirt and 1 Cobra hoodie, 1 We The Kings shirt, and 1 Mayday Parade shirt. We didn't get a GCH shirt because we didn't like any of them.
And yes, I had to sacrifice We The Kings to meet TAI. And it was fucking WORTH IT, too!
