haha i remember that tape used to be on cammie's myspace. i don't know if that's where you got it from though. okay... i'm skipping number one cos i just don't know. why do you make them? mostly as gifts, rarely for myself. what makes it fun? you are a dj! and you get to compile anything and everything of your own choosing. you can make it so there are absolutely no tracks that you'd want to skip over. what are the rules for compiling a mix? there needs to be a good assortment. and there shouldn't be two similar songs next to eachother; there has to be even distribution of sentimental and hard/fast paced, and maybe rap about..1/15 times for good measure. and the last song should always be one that sends chills from your spine up to your skull, as a rule. what is your personal process? get out favorite cds, pick one song from each that i always fastforward to first when listening.
hope that helped, although on second thought.....i don't even think i'm allowed to be interviewed for this anyway as a staff memberwhatevah. ♥
mixtapes are kinda lame i think but i guess they can be sweet if their done with the right intentions, but i feel a lot of the time making mixtapes are just to show how punk you can be or something
you know there's a book about mixtapes? i heard them review it on NPR, and they interviewed the guy who wrote it. you might want to see if you can get in touch with the author.
