Update on my bone marrow donation...

The short news is, I matched.

I was reeeeaaaallllly patient.  They told me I would have results within 60 days, I waited 65 before I called.

I talked to the coordinator today, who said her colleague mailed my letter yesterday.  (For all I know it's in the mailbox right now.)

Wow! I didn't know you were a bone marrow donor. I thought it was really expensive to get typed.

I volunteered for a Walk Against Leukemia a few (like, 6) years ago. They were collecting samples for the registry for free, so I decided to do it. ( A rare leap of faith, my family was really surprised because I do NOT do needles.) If you're interested, keep checking the marrow.org site, I bet you will eventually find one that will type you for free.

I sure was shocked when they called me in November, though!

Anna, the National Marrow Donor Project is typing people to join the registry for FREE from June 8-20. Check out www.marrow.org It's a simple cheek swab! :)

*HUGE HUGS* I was wondering what the outcome was since you never said anything. I was anxious to hear but didn't want to be a pest b/c I was sure you were anxious too. I think the whole thing is amazing. Even if the person doesn't need/want your donation, at least you know you did everything you can on your end. You are incredible. I miss you.
