Like a crow, black clack clack. Talons hitting the stone floor, back and forth, back and forth. Unable to escape, fly away, good bye. So simple in black and white. Grays bleed together like dreams, reality is only an illusion. Past mistakes fly by like playing-pictures, photographed memories that tell a tale too bad too long of sorrow and regret and cheap wine, cheap love. He had never known a time without taint. Blood has spoiled me, he thinks. I’ll turn your blood into steam, whispered into his ear in the cold night, nails scraping across his cheek, down his chest... Screaming bitch of a mother and too much time in the shower learning new scars- it left its mark. Back and forth, back and forth, with prisoners’ screams in his head, mother’s screams in his head, no screams in his head. Silence is worse. The silence of being alone, silence of being dead and buried alive under the mess of a forgotten past. Not quite forgotten, the chill of air and promise of a next meeting, hot breath on collar bone, be sure to wear some flowers in your hair. Grime comes off the walls to smear along his body, giving him colours he cannot see, and he’s black and forth, back and forth, back and forth. Time goes by on ravens’ wings, distorted, bloody. Staying alive is not something that can be done easily- the mind is an unforgiving thing.
