...and an occasional poet. Here's what happened when I tried to combine the two *l*
Ooh,the drama
Eek,the terror!
They wouldn't want to make an error
A pool of blood here
A knotted rope there
The dull-eyed madman
Stalking a young maiden fair
As I leave the theatre
I hear one fellow say
"To enjoy too many plays like this
Would turn one's hair to grey!"
But I,for one,feel quite merry
As I cross the river on the ferry
For that play was about as scary
As an old woman spearing a cocktail cherry!
Home is where the heart is
Home is where the hearth is
Home is where the horror is
A story told,in from the cold
Of bogey-men and ghosts
A story told,by men of old
Off to bed, thoughts in your head
You see the shadows, your mind filled with dread
Off to bed, dreams of blood red
Home is where the heart is
Home is where the hearth is
Home is where the horror is
Along the track I run
What,what,what have I done?
Through the night I run
Something horrid follows me
It will not let me be
Something awful follows me
To my door I race at last
It is gaining on me,fast,so fast
Here I am,safe at last
Now inside,home sweet home
But no!I am not alone
Somehow it has entered my home
I turn around and look at its' face
And I see my image in its' place
How can it have my face?
I realise I am the one to blame
It and I are one and the same
Only me,myself and I to blame
I was in my bedchamber, late one night
The darkness cut just like a knife
Then through my window crept the ageless beauty
Who would so quickly change my life
She was clad in scarlet and raven
Her face was pale yet fair
A mass of small white flowers
All tangled through her chestnut hair
So I said to my dear companion
"Indeed this temptation I cannot deny
But why would you turn your attention
To one such as I?"
At that she smiled a secret smile
And answered clear and true
"All you need to know, sweet girl
Is that we're alone, just us two"
Ah!My neck,my whole self
Felt as if it were set afire
Why me?I don't know why,I don't care why
I was filled with such infernal desire
The beauteous creature stood over me
As I laid in a semi-swoon
"Fare thee well,my darling love
We will meet again quite soon"
I look out the window, but I should be asleep
I look out at the river,so wide and so deep
The end will come swiftly, should I ever leap
I hear footsteps behind me,do I dare turn around?
A soft voice whispers,"Don't make a sound"
My nameless seducer, again I am found!
I turn to face her, heart beating fast
It had been too long,a month had passed
But now I am happy, she is here at last
She slowly approaches me,and touches my face
Like a cat she moves with such grace
With me,she does not have to chase
She leans down, and lets her lips touch mine
And as she pulls away, her eyes seem to shine
"Tonight,my girl,I will make you mine"
With long white fingers, she unbuttons her dress
Every look she gives feels like a caress
I am frightened again,I have to confess
She raises a fingernail to her chest
And makes a cut on her left breast
Of her plan,I now know the rest
With both hands she holds my head
As my tongue follows the trickle of red
I do not have to be led...
