Murder! The Movie

Last week I started wondering when the first talking movie came out.  I figured that 1930 must be close, and then I started to wonder how many movies came out that year.  I went to Wikipedia, and it listed something like 40-50 films, so I thought maybe it would be interesting to watch *all* of the movies from 1930 to get a little idea about film ( Read more... )

Rope is another cool Hitchcock movie, filmed all in one take with one camera

That's pretty impressive - all in one take! I think I might just need to go on a Hitchcock spree. I *have* seen several Hitchcock films, but I think it might be cool to see them within more of a context. I don't really know what makes a Hitchcock film a Hitchcock film and why that makes them special.

The first talkie was The Jazz Singer starring Al Jolson in 1927, yes?
