Unfortunately, we didn't order the tickets until it was almost too late, so we got "obstructed view" seats (I was behind a pillar). At least we did get INTO the theater ( Read more... )

I believe Ms Palmer and Mr Gaiman are engaged.

Yes, it's true.

Is there a YouTube link for the bacterium song? I've not heard it, but it sounds like I should.

*ahem*

They started with "Elephant":

And then rewrote it as "Bacteria". Sorry, I can't remember any of the words. They said it was the first time this song had been performed EVAH.

I was working backstage for the IGs. They're run by friends of mine who roped me into running the post-show reception this year.

Amanda and Jason were very nice and gave me a copy of their "Evelyn Evelyn" CD after I told them how much I liked the "Elephant Elephant" song (Michelle's earliest nickname was Michellephant and she has a large elephant collection). Niel was pleasant and signed the copy of "Instructions" I had brought (also for Michelle as she loves that book).

FYI, you may also know Amanda from her pre-Dresden Dolls days as the woman who did the "8-Foot Tall Bride" living statue in Harvard Square. See http://brainwashed.com/amanda/ for a reminder.

They were definitely rock stars compared to the rest of the crowd there though, and their socialization at the after-party was a bit limited.
