Good bye benefits

So this weekend I was mentioning to my brother that althoug my company has been weathering a lot of criticism in the media we are still a good place to work. We are a strong company who cares about the employees. We have good benefits. And Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) can not be used to take time off to care of a sick family member. That makes the "Family" in the FMLA kinda off, huh?

Just so you know, that is against the law and your company can be sued for non-compliance

Let me clarify. We can take time off to care for a sick family member. But we won't get the half-pay during that time.

They don't have to pay you when you take FMLA. The whole thing is that you can take up to 12 weeks off unpaid and still have your job available when you come back.
