Well, it is Halloween. It's supposed to be scary.

IMO you do need to read the book so you can tell her on how many levels you disagree with Edward's supposed HAWTness. You need to tell her that real men aren't like that, thank GOD!

Well he is hott... And very little else.

He has actual no personality, making him the perfect fantasy fodder for any self-obsessed teen. Sure he's hott! He's handsome, potentially dangerous, and doesn't have any needs or desires of his own that would require skill at compromising, conversation, or negotiation like a real relationship with another human being.

That said, I enjoyed the first book for the fluff read it was and haven't read the others.
