When I was a kid I hated to read. Then during one summer hurricane (with no TV or other entertainment) there was nothing to do and everyone in my family was reading a book in some corner of the house. So I reluctantly picked up a book, and OMG I was hooked.  I was brought into another world and by the time school started I had read more then ten ( Read more... )

Well, as you said, at least she's found *some*thing that's special to her, and I hope she enjoys it, if maybe not *quite* as much as we've enjoyed HP ;-) And maybe it will help her eventually find even more things that she enjoys reading. It's not always the most "comfortable" things for parents when the kids like something we so don't care for, but at least, too, she *is* wanting to "share" it with you, regardless. Hang in there, and maybe it'll eventually be better ;-)

Well, I'm glad she found reading, I'm sorry it's not HP, though. :P (I just got my dad to read HP, anyway.)

As for Older, you do know I'm going to have to have a fantastic Shakespeare chat with her someday, right? What's her "Hamlet" theory? :P
