Dear Everywoman Writer,

First of all, thank you so much for writing for me! I am really excited to see whatever you come up with. Here are some ideas, but don't worry about following a specific prompt if that's not where your ideas go. As long as you avoid the basic DNWs, I will be super happy to see fic about any of these ladies.

So, a couple of general things. I'm Ladymercury_10 on the AO3, and if you are interested I'm ladymercury-10 on Tumblr as well. Feel free to poke around if you feel like it or to completely ignore both those links.

Things I generally like (feel free to incorporate as many or as few as you please): Both serious and light-hearted stories are very welcome, whether they are plotty or introspective, full of adventure or low-key slice of life. Little nods to canon make me really happy, and I love stories that feel grounded in their world or a specific place. I really like light angst or light fluff. Hurt/comfort (emotional or physical) is probably my favorite trope. Compassion, recovery, and characters working through hard times are all things I enjoy reading about. I like seeing characters who are kind of screwed up but still try to look out for each other and make it in life. I love reading about friendships or families--I'm really interested in close platonic relationships. Girl saves boy is a fave. I enjoy good-natured bickering, sarcasm, and banter. And I have a weakness for snuggling and hair-petting.

Things I would prefer to avoid: Non-/dub-con, underage, incest, and bestiality are squicky for me. I’d rather not see character death (mentions of canon deaths are fine), suicide, horror, or really dark endings. I’m not particularly looking for PWP or kink. I’m not really into mpreg (or babyfic in general), and deaging, bodyswap, and genderswap don't do a lot for me. AU tropes like high school, coffeehouse, or a/b/o AUs aren't really my thing (the exception being band AUs--I love those). I'm not a big fan of first-person narration. No character bashing, please.

I'm not really interested in crossovers, but if you want to bring in other characters from the same universe (the larger DCU or other 616 characters), feel free.

Fandom: DCU (Comics)
Character(s): Barbara Gordon
Optional Details:

Barbara! I love how intense she can be and how much she cares about people. I love that computers are basically her superpower, and that she never gives up no matter what life throws at her. My favorite Babs comics are Batgirl: Year One and the current Stewart/Fletcher/Tarr Batgirl ongoing, but Babs as Oracle is also totally welcome if that's where you want to go with this--pre-boot and reboot are both fine. If you're interested, I ship both Dick/Babs and Babs/Dinah, and I also enjoy her friendships with both those characters.

Ideas:

- Babs working on her thesis and getting into the swing of grad school
- Babs +/ Dick having baby superhero adventures as Batgirl and Robin
- Babs saving one of the other batkids, either by swooping in as Batgirl or by offering help remotely as Oracle
- Babs exploring Burnside with Frankie or Dinah or Alysia (or whoever you like)
- Tron-esque virtual reality escapades and computer awesomeness
- Babs + the other Batgirls or the Birds of Prey in a band AU

Fandom: Fresh Off The Boat
Character(s): Jessica Huang
Optional Details:

I've adored Jessica since the first episode when she got nostalgic about fighting for vegetables at the Chinatown markets. I love her fierceness and her honesty and how strongly she feels things. She's a badass mom, and just badass in general, and she knows it (I love when she tries to get Louis to high-five her when she lays down a burn). And I love her dorkiness--her love/hate relationship with Stephen King novels and her secret longing for a Sparkle Time Beauty Horse. I think her partnership with Louis is really sweet, how they don't always agree but they're always on each other's team. I also really enjoy her friendship with Honey. Wherever you take this is cool with me--I'd be super excited to read whatever you wanted to write about Jessica.

Ideas:

- Jessica vs. grocery shopping, take II
- Jessica (+ Honey if you like) overdoes it with the horror novels
- Jessica and Honey have a girls' night--maybe they have all the slumber party stuff Jessica missed as a kid?
- Jessica and Honey go roller skating
- Louis gets hurt or sick and Jessica is a well-meaning but terrifying nurse
- Jessica and Louis take the kids to Disneyland
- Jessica visits Chinatown
- anything you want to do with "mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be cowboys"--I feel like that song is perfect for Jessica

Fandom:Marvel 616
Character(s): Felicia Hardy
Optional Details:

Felicia is one of my very favorite characters. I love how she doesn't let other people tell her who to be, how deeply she cares about the people she loves, and how much fun she has whether she's stealing things or saving the day or just swinging around the city at night. I also love how smart she is about the tools of her trade and I think her luck powers are just really cool--she literally makes her own luck, and she does it with the power of probability! (I am a giant math nerd and I would totally love to see that aspect of her powers explored, if that was something that interested you.) Probably my favorite Felicia storyline was during Marvel Knights Spider-Man (at one point she literally swooped in and saved Peter mid-air!), but I'm not tied to a specific era. I haven't read her Heroes for Hire appearances, though, and I'd prefer to give the Superior Spider-Man stuff a miss if possible. I enjoy Felicia's friendship with Peter, and I also ship them, if either of those are directions you want to take your story, but that is obviously totally optional.

Ideas:

- Felicia enjoys a night out in the city--fighting crime, committing crime, or just having fun
- Felicia saves and/or takes care of Peter
- Felicia strikes a truce with Cindy Moon
- Felicia being a little bit of a crazy cat lady
- anything you want to write about Felicia's luck powers--are they more like math or like magic? How do they work?

Thanks again, and I look forward to reading your story!

dear writer, everywoman
