So, after 5 years of back pain, I finally found myself a competent doctor and a reason as to why this shit started in the first place: I have an extra vertebrae. No, seriously. I'm surprised no one thought to do x-rays... that's impressive. I'm happy you have a reason now at least...

Congrats! A diagnosis is always a good thing, especially because you know it makes you feel not idiotic. :)

I hope the new meds help too! My mom also suggested that you look for a pain management specialist; they don't really do anything to treat the problem, but they're supposed to help you figure out how to live with the chronic pain. I know that CCF has a whole giant center for pain management, but I don't know what's available by you. :)
