Bloody power outage
Gaaah!! I was almost done with a nice, lengthy essay when the power went out on me. I am too lazy to retype everything, but the gist of the entry is about dogs and food.
Last Saturday the puppies had themselves a nice little feast while hubby and I were out shopping. They devoured the remaining chocolate truffles I made a few days ago, leaving me an empty Rubbermaid container and the wax paper I'd laid the truffles out on. Amazingly enough the wax paper was unchewed, slobber free, with nary a wrinkle on it. *shaking head* Ah well, at least they weren't sick from all that dark chocolate.
wendynat, the lemon pepper chicken last night was really good. It'd have been better if I hadn't been a tad pour-happy with the soy sauce lol. And instead of the Lipton noodles I served the chicken on regular egg noodles boiled in broth, which worked great. Thanks for sharing the recipe Wendy, this one is definitely a keeper!
At this very moment I have melisande88's pear-banana bread cooling on my kitchen counter. I've been trying to combat my sweet tooth for the past couple of weeks so I need something healthy to nibble on. It's a good thing the power went out after the bread was done, or I'd be really pissed. It smells heavenly, and I damned near burned my tongue trying a slice while waiting for the electricity to come back on. It was worth it. ;) Next up I'm going to give the fruit scones a go. I can't wait!
In other news, my Slytherin tree is almost complete. The memory card in my digital camera is full, but once I get that sorted out I'll be posting pictures shortly.
