There are many things that come to mind when I think of Christmas and the holiday season - songs, stories, memories, scents, tastes, smiles, and on and on and on. Much of the excitement was seeing all of the quirky fun oddments that had come to fill our socks. To this day I tend to get more excited looking for "stocking stuffers" than for "real" gifts for people.

The summer before last, my mother's next-door neighbor found a gift hidden in the tool room from "Santa" to Mom. That means it was from my dad, who had been dead over 15 years. The neighbor was sure that it was a diamond, but Mom said it was more likely scotch tape. Still, she waited until I was there to open it.... and it was scotch tape. ;)

Santa works in mysterious ways, and times.
