On February 15th, 2005, Ugandan officials banned the The Vagina Monologues throughout the country and threatened to arrest those who staged benefit performances of the play. Perhaps they realized the impact this play could make.

Do they make VM dvd's or anything like that? I'm curious to see what it is all about.

I have never seen a DVD, although we are taping our performance... They are performed all over the place during this time of year, so I am sure you may be able to find one near you @ http://www.vday.org/contents/action/events.

It is not the best written play in the world, but the monologues are for the most part very fun and moving. All the performances are done to raise awareness and money to end violence against women.

I did not know that it was to raise money for that cause. I think if I see one near me, I'll actually go, rather than getting the bootleg like I originally intended.
