His first thought had been that she was a cute little thing. He had no doubt that if it weren't for Kio, he'd have been flirting with her in no time flat. This thought was only confirmed as he began talking with her. She seemed to have her clueless moments, but then again so did he. And the way they could chat for nearly an hour over something as nonsensical as what one calls the time of day they're in made him feel like he could spend hours with her talking about everything and nothing all at once. He even looked forward to picking up those cookies, just because seeing her in person would be so much better. While the l337Pods were convenient, nothing was like seeing someone face to face.
And then that moment came. He felt like smacking himself. The look on her face when the words left his mouth made him quickly backpedal and attempt to soothe her. Because there was no reason that a look like that should be on the face of such a cute girl. And he just kept making things worse and worse the more he talked. He hoped he didn't end up making her hate him. He'd really wanted to be friends with her... And then the most shocking turn of all.
That look she gave him. It was a miracle he didn't shiver. It made him feel small, stupid. Like she knew so much more than he could ever hope to. He knew in that instant that she was a girl who would never need protecting. The kind of girl who could put a guy like him to shame in a battle without putting any effort into it. He knew then that he wanted to be friends with her, learn more about her. She was interesting in a way that made him want to learn why she thought the way she did. Of course, that thought made him scowl. It sounded way too much like something Vexen would say...
