You have only the length of that song to write it.
1. Vindicated by Dashboard Confessional
Kaiba watched her from across the dance floor, eyes narrowed into slits as she danced with the Egyptian. He hated it. Hated the silent anger that boiled up at the sight of them together. Hated her for making him feel like this. It drove him mad, and he was quick to act.
Without a second thought the brunet strode forward, cutting in and taking her hand. He was a better dancer and he knew it, he was better for her and he hated that he knew it. But just this once, he muffled those selfish thoughts and focused instead on the shine to her amber eyes as he twirled her gracefully.
Gold was a perfect color for her...
2. Temptation Waits by Garbage
Nuri couldn't hide the twitch of her lips at the sheer fury in Kaiba's eyes as she strode into his office. She knew she was entering uninvited, knew he had plenty of work to catch up on after his sick leave. But it was time for her to call in a favor.
"Get out," he hissed, lip curling and eyes dark with anger.
"That's no way to speak to your girlfriend, Kaiba," she replied, striding forward and casually observing the way his cheeks flushed with rage.
"You are not-"
"Oh, but I am. I'm calling in that deal we made. Six months. Public dating at least every other week," she said, stopping before his desk and absently running her fingers along the line of his tie.
He snarled then, and before he could react any further she abruptly tugged on the tie, dragging him down so they were eye to eye.
"This will certainly be fun, don't you think?" Nuri purred, even as she leaned up to press her lips against his in a passionate kiss. For a moment, she thought he wouldn't respond. But in the end, he did, pressing and fighting with every ounce of strength he had. This would definitely be fun...
3. Cold by Crossfade
He convinced himself it was the fever. That was what was making him reach out for her hand, what was making the words tumble from his lips. He was burning up and wheezing through a throat that felt far too tight. He'd told her to keep Mokuba away - he didn't want the boy to get sick like this.
She'd merely nodded and squeezed his hand in reassurance, taking the dripping towel and placing it against his forehead with a soft comforting murmur.
He shuddered slightly at the feeling, something cold and damp against skin that was far too warm. The words kept tumbling out, heedless of how he never wanted to say them. He didn't mean to push her away, how could she stay at his side?
She smiled and allowed him his words, telling herself that it was the fever just as he had.
4. Everything You Want by Vertical Horizon
Even as he said the words, she knew it was the right thing.
"It's over."
She merely nodded at the Eygptian, and that was the end. Deep down, she wished it wasn't so easy. She wished she could feel something other than the strong friendship she'd developed with him.
But she didn't. Even though he was everything she'd ever wanted, she felt nothing for him. She wanted to love him, wished she could just forget Kaiba and settled down with Malik. But she couldn't.
The brunet had captivated her from day one and ruined her for anyone else. Deep down she knew he was the one, knew she'd never be able to be with anyone else.
Somewhere, she wished it would hurt her to come to that realization. But it didn't. She felt elated, relieved even. She loved Kaiba. She loved him and there was no one in the world who could change it.
Not Jounouchi, not Yugi, not Mokuba...
Not even Malik, who she had so much in common with it was almost scary.
She loved Kaiba Seto.
5. My Life Would Suck Without You by Kelly Clarkson
Nuri couldn't help her smile when she found him waiting in the living room. He looked angry, like always. But there was a softness to his expression that she hadn't seen there before, and she knew what it was. He'd yelled, he'd said things that had stung so deeply she wasn't sure she could forgive him.
But seeing him here, knowing he almost regretted the words, it was enough. She was calm as she set her keys down on the table, carefully sitting down beside him. He made a point of ignoring her, even as she pressed her side to his and leaned her head on his shoulder.
His eyes narrowed and he glared at some nondescript point on the wall. And they sat like that, merely staying in place while his mind ran through the days work and what he'd be doing tomorrow. She knew that was what he was doing. He wouldn't be here unless he had work that could be done mentally.
And after what seemed like hours, she finally broke the silence.
"My life would suck without you," she had said, leaning up to kiss him on the cheek.
