Do your cousins know about your mother's relationship with you? Maybe send them a nice little baby gift and a note about how unfortunately you DO need to be separately notified about family news because your mom won't pass things on. Don't make a BIG deal out of it in the note, because it WILL get back to your mom, plus if you whine you'll look like the problem.
they know, i mean, i was almost a whole month behind in even finding out they were pregnant in the first place. it's just that we don't talk that much at all, and joey assumes that our family works the way hers does-- mom passes along all the info to the underlings like a good matriarch should. that and the fact that they had bigger things to think about at the time....
so yes, suggestions for baby gifts are needed-- what the hell does one buy a newborn?! i also need gift ideas for the lady that petsat Tux for me... help!
A gift certificate to Baby Gap won't go amiss, but I hear new parents saying that everyone wants to buy clothes for the baby, but those are really secondary in importance to diapers, food, etc. Maybe you could send them a little teddy bear holding a check and a note?
mmm, good plan. i like that :) also-- i think the world is gonna end. i got a timid, one-liner APOLOGY email from my mother! i dunno what i should do with it, perhaps get it bronzed or something?
