update on my back... pain's gotten better thank the goddess... but still having problems, i blame the rain. that's right folks it's been raining for at least 24hours and no end is in sight til saturday (oh joy move out in the rain)
oh well 50 tests to grade and an exam to translate

i hesitate to use the word surreal because i've been so pissed when people use that around me to describe what happened at NIU yesterday... but it doesn't seem real... no matter how often the news media seems to remind me that it was real... NIU never felt unsafe to me and now I wonder if it will ever feel safe again ( Read more... ) -

shooting at NIU... my alma mater... i don't know whether to cry or be happy that most of the people i know are no longer freshmen and therefore probably aren't in the class that was shot up... it's odd how fate works... had i been accepted into the grad program there i would have been present at the incident (in the building right next door more ( Read more... ) -

i love my bosses!!! okay so last night i was totally freaking about the plagarism i found in one of my students papers, however my professors said to just note it and make sure they understood how severe it could be if they continued to not cite their work... so yea!!! no troubles there. -

OMG!!! I was grading papers this evening and I discovered something no teacher ever wants to find in one of their students papers... one of my students papers copied from the text almost word for word and did not cite the text at all in regards to it! okay grad school sucks... the readings and stuff are fun but there are so many of them. and what was i thinking taking three languages at once? i wasn't and that's the truth. my poor brain hurts and i can barely function. but i've got to keep going... it's only 19 credit hours i did the same thing when i was an undergrad i can do it again... i
