Tea disappointment

Labor Day weekend wasn’t too eventful. My family had a barbeque on Sunday, which is rather rare. (Our grill lives in the garage almost all of the time and only gets dragged out about once a year. We finally used the last of the bag of charcoal which was well over 5 years old!) But it was just us so it was quiet ( Read more... )

lol yea, Teavana can be really pushy x_X I like to get their free samples, though, and their tea mints are really good *3*~

Not going to NYCC/NYAF this year so won't be seeing you ;3; but yea the crowds...are ridiculous. I mean, ANY kind of cos is in danger in say, the dealer's room, imo. X_x

I'd only been in the Boston one before so I didn't know. -_- Haven't tried the tea mints.

Yeah, it's ridiculously crowded in there and I'm not really looking forward to the con because of it.

I am debating whether it is worth going to NYCC this year too, from my experience last year it is very disorganized and too crowded to be fun.
You should get on Facebook if you wanna be in the loop, they allow fake names so you can make a cosplay-only account. :)

Yeah, I don't enjoy the crowds either. If it weren't local, I wouldn't even consider going. :-/

Ugh, even if I could make a cosplay-only account, I have no interest in having a Facebook at all. My brother finally made one late last year or early this year and seeing the stuff that came up on his page, all the little updates would drive me insane and make me want to throw things at the computer. >_> I am just not a fan of tiny updates like you get on Facebook or Twitter which is why I don't have either of them although a lot of people seem to have moved there.

Yeah, I rarely brew loose tea either. My mother usually brews a couple of pots in the morning (nothing fancy) and pours it into a thermos so I don't do it myself often. When I do, I've been using a small glass teapot I got last year and just pour it into my mug rather than a real teacup. I've been tempted to get myself an actual tea set but I know I'd never have a practical reason to use it.

Ah, I don't think I know her. Or, at least, I don't think I've ever been properly introduced. I'm bad about remembering to introduce myself at cons. ^_^;;;

Wow, I had no idea they were so pushy in there! I've been to the Teavana at my local mall, but have never bought anything there..

I love the tea shop Lupicia, but unfortunately they only have retail locations in Honolulu and California. You can order their stuff online (and if they'll send you a free sample every month if you sign up for their newsletter - after you buy a certain amount of tea from them). I really wish they had a shop in my city, so I could try things out!

Yeah, I had no idea about the pushiness issue. I'd only gotten a cup of tea from their tea bar once when I was in Boston earlier this year.

Thanks for the suggestion! I'll have to take a look around the site.
