i'm a newbie to this fandom, but the relationship between arthur and uther is one of my favorite things about the show, and i've been somewhat saddened by the shortage of fic about them.
but there are so many things about this that i love. uther was wonderfully complex (just the way i like him!) and the ending was heartbreaking.
especially the last word.
