The proposal story

For those of you not on Facebook, or who for whatever reason I didn't get ahold of personally, Mark and I are engaged!

I'm sure you're all extremely surprised, and that none of you in any way saw this coming.

Here's the story of what we have come to refer to as the Proposal LARP:

Do you think that'll work when the ring isn't a diamond? I'm not sure it's totally obviously an engagement ring. Also, while I love it and don't want anything else and all, it is pretty small.

I'll keep that in mind.

I've heard stories of women who didn't get an engagement ring for whatever reason, but bought a nice-looking fake one to wear while talking to various wedding vendors so as to be taken seriously.

Oh that is so dorkily cute! That has got to be the most memorable engagement I've ever heard of... I bet you'll keep telling your grandchildren about it. Maybe you'll start a trend of increasingly elaborate engagement larps, until people will actually starting hiring people to kidnap each other...

Mark says that if he had a budget, there would totally have been actors, costumes, more props, more stops on the way, etc. I think it was perfect as-is, but I will be curious to see what the grandchildren might come up with.
