Here's the first post of my extremely belated photospam series of me in China! First off: the Maglev in Shanghai, then lots of food pictures, sunflowers, monkeys, and fail!cars. It's been too long since I took these. I am NOT a professional photographer, so keep in mind most of these aren't going to be that, um, great in quality.
We stopped in Shanghai for a couple of hours before heading to Guiyang, and took the chance to head into the city on this:
THE SHANGHAI MAGLEV. It goes up to about 300 miles per hour, although it didn't go that fast when we were on. A roundtrip takes about 15 minutes. Check out the interior:
Those would be my parents, so yes, I was the one in the blue. OTZ I tried to take as many pictures without me in them, but they snuck in anyways... After we had lunch and stretched our legs a bit, we headed over to Guiyang. By then it was midnight, so we didn't do much until the next day.
The Huangguoshu Waterfall! Translated literally, it's Yellow Fruit Tree Waterfall. The entire area is protected as a national park, and really pretty. I didn't take as many pictures as I like, but you do go through a bonzai garden before you even get close to the waterfall. It was raining A LOT just before we got here, so there's more water than usual.
This was taken just after we got through the Water Curtain Cave. It's a naturally formed cave behind the waterfall. We all got soaked. XD;; The pathway's all paved with steps, but since it's still dark I stumbled a few times. That might be because I'm freakishly tall and kept on hitting the ceiling... The next day, we went to a park ..... thing. I don't know what it was, exactly.
It was very pretty and peaceful. I'm really proud of this picture. :3 The water in the lake is clean enough that people swim in it, but I wouldn't. *a little on the germ-phobic side* But the real reason we came here was....
MONKEYS~! Aren't they cute?
Here's a monkey...
There's a monkey...
And here's another little monkey...
Fuzzy monkey....
Funny monkey...
Monkey, monkey...
TURTLE!
I'm not sure what these flowers are called, but I think they're called river flowers. Chinese has way too many homonyms for it's own good. I never see them in the states, so I had to take a picture.
And no visit to China is complete without mahjong! I see old people playing this ALL. THE. TIME. But now, time for some China!fail.
Like, seriously, what the fuck is wrong with the eyes. CHINA. WHY SO MANY KNOCK-OFFS. The fact that I live in Orlando makes this all that much funnier...
And because I got sick of uploading photos, I'm going to stop here. More photospam AFTER I get some sleep. Guh. @_@
