12. Bus Stop
They stay at the club until the pool finally closes around 4 p.m. Morgana had successfully acquired an angry red tone of skin and can’t even properly lean against the car seat because it hurts, but she’s happy and sated after the day in the water.
Morgana is staring outside the window, trying not to fall asleep when the car slows down. She turns to ask Arthur why, but get sight of Merlin outside, in the bus stop.
“What are you doing?” Arthur asks after lowering the window.
“Waiting for the bus.” Merlin replies simply.
“Why?”
She rolls her eyes and Morgana has to agree: it is a stupid question.
“Because for us, mere mortals who do not drive shiny, expensive cars, the bus is the only way to move around town.”
This time Arthur is the one doing the eye rolling.
“Do you want a ride?”
He offers harshly, receiving a wary look in return.
“My shiny, expensive car won’t bite you.” He rolls his eyes again.
“But his annoying and arsine owner might.”
Merlin shoots back with a smug smirk; Arthur just glowers and opens the back door.
“Just get in.” He commands in an annoyed tone.
With a sigh Merlin does enter the car. She meets Arthur’s eyes in the rearview mirror; they are both glaring at each other.
Morgana giggles. It is extremely amusing to watch those two together.
