Hey there guys...
So yesterday I was struck by a very very evil plot bunny that doesn't seem to leave me alone: Merlin AU, Meg Cabot's Mediator style.
I can just see Merlin as Suze and Arthur as poor ghostly Jesse haunting the room.
It would be fun to see it! Thinking about writing it! Alright, enough of that... time for fic!

Masterlist 21. The Exorcist
After dinner (Merlin was invited to eat over since her mother had the night shift in the Hospital that night), Arthur, Morgana and Merlin settled on the couch in front of the huge plasma screen to watch the movie. But when Andrew found out which film they were going to watch, he sent a sulking Morgana to her room (according to him, she was too young to watch it), leaving Arthur and Merlin alone.
Arthur catches sign of Merlin from the corner of his eye. She has her legs drawn to her chest, chin resting on her knees and arms hugging her shins. The girl is even trembling slightly.
“You’re not afraid, are you?” He asks barely concealing his smirk
Merlin is a little startled when he speaks so suddenly, but manages a scowl.
“I’m just cold.”
Arthur inches closer to the girl, pulls a quilt from the back of the sofa and tucks around both of them.
“Better?”
He asks and Merlin can hear the actual concern on his voice. It’s a little overwhelming.
“Yeah, thank you.”
She smiles at him a little shyly and Arthur smiles back before turning his attention back to the movie.
The silence is heavy around them and Arthur sees Merlin completely focused on the screen, even though she’s pretty much hidden under the cover. He turns his eyes back to the movie and, after a few seconds, he tentatively lets his arm fall from the back of the couch to her shoulder.
Merlin jumps upright with a squeal that is pretty much drowned by the sound of an explosion. Arthur automatically pulls her flush against his chest, in a protecting manner.
“What bloody happened?” Andrew asks, turning the lights on. He heard the explosion from his study.
“I don’t know.”
Arthur glances from his dad to black hole in the middle of the screen perplexed.
“It simply blew up.” He states before looking down. “You’re okay?”
Merlin finally notices she’s pressed tightly against the blonde and pulls back quickly. She has a faint blush in her cheeks as she nods looking away. For a second, Arthur could have sworn he had seen a flicker of gold in her blue eyes.
“I’ll walk you home.”
Arthur offers standing up (and he totally ignores Andrew’s approving look). Merlin follows him outside mumbling good night to the senior Prince.
“That was weird.”
Arthur comments as Merlin unlocks her front door. He glances at her and notices she’s still shaking.
“Hey, are you sure you’re okay?” He reaches out to touch her shoulder but she pulls back, turning to look at him with a fuming look.
“You did it on propose!” She accuses.
“What?” Arthur’s confused and shocked. “I didn’t blow up the bloody television!”
“You bumped on my shoulder to scare me.” Merlin corrects, still angry.
“No.” His face falls. “I didn’t…”
‘You’re an asshole, Arthur!”
Merlin declares, cutting off his sentence, before slamming the door in his bewildered face.
