Awww, I'm so sorry about your Mom! I think that has to be one of the hardest losses in life, second only to losing a child! Nothing could make you braver in my eyes!
I'm glad you're feeling better & that Walk to Rivendell is such a NEAT! idea. . . I perused the site & found it fascinating. Bravo for having the dedication to stick it out, Ro!
Hope you're feeling better! If I were a good gypsy *smirk!*, I'd pop a little something in your Inbox -- seeing as how I *owe* you one. Call it an early Solstice gift (Won't Senticles be surprised?)
No, sister dear, you never outgrow your parents. However, it does cause you to grow and step into their shoes, see the world through their eyes and appreciate them for what they were, what they did and what they gave you. Good, bad or indifferent - they all have something to teach us. It's just the good ones are so much harder to give up. Your mom's still watching - she pops in every so often and says - Look, an Angel! Usually about the time I despair of finding you a cool gift. And there it is - another angel, just for you. So, miss her, hug the thought of her and revel in having had her for as long as you did.

You go, girl! Wish I could get up the ambition to ride to the mailbox, nevermind Rivendell...
