Too much Kdrama?

You know you've been spending way too much time on Kdrama blogs & watching too many Kdramas when you use the expression "we are in deep kimchi" and don't even realize your husband isn't going to have a clue what you are saying. ;)

lol - yes! I also have a habit of wanting to tack "ne?" onto everything - too much jdramas there.

But I love that my vocabulary includes so much from kdramas & jdramas now. :)

Do you say "we're in deep kimchi" in English? And he doesn't understand? If so, that's odd because is my neck of the woods it's a common expression. Maybe it's because we have a noticeable Korean population here? (Military spouses, immigrant in-laws, and their descendents from the Korean War era.)

I googled it & supposedly it's also a common expression among Korean war veterans, too. But he seriously was like "huh?". He knew from context and such what I was saying but apparently he didn't even know what kimchi is. He was on the phone with his brother at the time & told his brother & his brother was all "that's some kind of food in a jar" - obviously, their upbringing was lacking!!
