Just watched the movie Ocean's Eleven purely to perve on Las Vegas. After vising there last year, I'm already so freaking excited to go back. Thought I'd write down some of my favourite Las Vegas memories, just as a little exercise.
- Arriving in Las Vegas. We took a bus from Disneyland to Las Vegas and it was so interesting driving in, coming from desert to this massive city. I'd been told that you literally turn a corner and go from desert to sky scrapers in the blink of an eye. While it wasn't quite like that, it was certainly fascinating to see such a city rising from the landscape so quickly. The bus played Elvis's Viva Las Vegas when we hit the outskirts and while I was grinning like a fool and singing along, I actually felt... foolish. Like I was being, I don't know, stereotypical. But I was still so excited!
- Checking into The Palms hotel. Such an eyeopener! We pulled up in our taxi and instantly spotted girls walking around in high heels and swimwear. Really thought that only happened in the movies. Also accidentally trying to use an expired credit card to check into the hotel. Oops, that was embarrassing.
- Dancing on the balcony of a nightclub at the top of the Ivory Tower at the Palms. The music actually sucked, the drinks were, whoa, so expensive (but delicious!) and last call was sadly at 3am but at one point, we were dancing with a bunch of different, really nice people, the view was amazing, the weather was beautiful and I wouldn't hesitate to go back there in an instant. I also had a lot of fun confusing the shit out of the elevator bouncer by leaving and coming back about four times, always wearing something slightly different. Oh the joys of partying in the hotel we were staying in!
- Taking naughty photos with the Chippendale boys on Fremont St. That's all I'll say on that one.
- Exploring the strip with one of my friends on Sunday afternoon. We bought cans of alcohol from a pharmacy on the strip and took a wander in the beautiful weather, stopping in whatever shop we wanted. One our way back the sun was setting behind the casinos and we stopped to take some great shots and life just felt amazing.
- Spending an entire day in a cabana by the pool of The Palms, drinking cocktails and having an amazing lunch. Probably spent too much money on that day, but until a storm blew in at about 4pm, the day was absolutely perfect.
Those are definitely my favourite moments out of the four nights in Las Vegas. I want to go again next year, but go EDC but in all honesty, I'm kind of scared of going during such a busy time and for such a big event. Traveling during a quieter time was nice.
So much to think about!! I just know I need to go back there!
