Moviemaking gets more exciting

WASHINGTON -  FOX 5 DC reports that a D.C. Police SUV was involved in a wreck at the filming of "Transformers 3" in Washington D.C.

While the movie was filming a car chase scene on 3rd Street and Maryland Ave in southwest D.C., the police SUV collides with a yellow Chevy Camaro, which in the movie series is known as the character Bumblebee.

You have to watch the video portion.

After the crash, a few guys scurry out & cover the car to keep any more photos from being taken.

Granted, the officer went through a closed street, this the fault of the film crew.

The officer had his sirens going. Either the scene director should have stopped Bumblebee's driver or maybe 'Bee's driver should have been paying a little more attention. There is easily 10 seconds from when the officer broke into the scene to the collision. Should have been plenty of time to radio 'Bee's driver to stop.

I'm guessing Bumblebee and the Autobots following him were making a "hot" skid turn or something to join the caravan and that is why he was going quick into the intersection.

Not surprised at the quick cover though. Even if there wasn't a crash, that cover would be put on moments after the scene was finished filming.
