Wedding Dress searching!

Today there was a "Say Yes to the Dress" Marathon. Since I thought it would get me ideas for my own dress. But all the dresses just looked to UGLY!!! Expensive, ugly, over the top dresses. Ever since I was a little girl I had this vision of what I want my wedding dress to look like. I want it to be light, flowly, off-white, mid-thigh length ( ( Read more... )

Basically I want to look like a fairy princess! I may even get fairy wings and a flower crown.

That sounds awesome! DO IT.

I'm not planning for my dress to be wedding dress-y at all actually--probably something vintage in an interesting colour (probably red or yellow--I want us to do it in autumn and have everything autumn-themed). Also, are you pagan? I totally didn't know that, but it's awesome if you are. I have some good handfasting books I could recommend to you. :)

I am a Buddhist but my religious beliefs are mesh of a bunch of different religions and philosophies. So not really. Yes we want to do a handfasting ceremony! Or something like that. IT would be great if you could recommend some books. Its still early, but it would be great to get ideas. I've never even been to a wedding before...

Ok, I'll totally dig them out and let you know in the next few days. :) I have a whole "wedding box" of stuff because I'm planning way ahead too, hehe. I never thought I would care about this stuff so much but it's fun to just, you know, be a girl sometimes.

You might also want to be on the lookout for any kind of bridal conventions near you--there are ones in Houston a couple times a year and my mom and I went to one awhile ago, and it was pretty fun, although a little overwhelming. But it's a good way to start thinking about all kinds of different things to plan.

Ah ok, Buddhism is cool too. If I were one of the "mainstream" religions that's what I'd be. And yeh I'm eclectic Wiccan so I totally know about mixing in all kinds of different elements. And there are a fair amount of pagans that mix in some of the big faiths like that, especially Hinduism.
