Yes I have one. Using Photoshop 6, is there any magic way of removing red-eye without resulting to tools and retouching by hand? I ask because hubbie was practising over Christmas with my new digital camera and we have two smashing pics of son #2's g/f but she has red eyes in both because we hadnt worked out how to prevent it!

unfortunately there is no way of getting around not using the tools in photoshop, even in CS.

there are several ways to do it. i use the simplest way i know of which is using the paintbrush to get rid if red eye.

make a dupe copy of the photo just in case you're not comfortable working with the original. go to your color pallet and choose the color that matches the eye color as close as possible.

enlarge the photo to the eye area and start painting. use a soft brush and decrease the opacity so not to make the eye look dead. don't color into the white of the eye or the catch light. use a small diameter tip to do that.

i find this works well for me. there is another way that gives great results but it's a little more time consuming. check out this site to find out how to do it.

they say this way takes about 5 minutes. my way takes about half the time or less.

good luck! :)

Okay, what you have said is pretty much what I tried to do and the results aren't too bad. use a soft brush and decrease the opacity so not to make the eye look dead.
This is the bit I'm not sure about so any enlightenment would be much appreciated. I'll go and check the link as well. Many thanks for your help.
*hugs*

Howdy!

I love your Elijah banner in your profile! It's lovely..
If you don't mind my asking, how do you create the flash?
Or perhaps do you know where a tutorial could be for it? :)

howdy back at ya! :)

i use adobe image ready to make gif files which is what the banner is. it's layer upon layer of single images that are slightly different. adobe image ready is able to show each layer separately so you get a moving image.

it's tedious work, and my fingers will probably fall off writing it, so here is a link to help you.

there is a lot of information here, but it's good information. it's really not as complicated as it looks. after trying a couple, it does get easier. if you have troubles with anything, let me know. good luck!
