So is the thought some sort of delayed emptying thing? If so, have you tried tiny low-residue meals?
(I have a buddy with delayed gastric emptying and I'm endlessly shocked at how little meds do for him! He started out nauseous and full-feeling with weight loss (that he couldn't afford to lose)).
Nope - they've ruled out delayed emptying; that's what the gastric emptying study was for. The "thought" right now is that western medicine has no freaking clue and so is declaring it "all in my head."
I've tried small frequent meals and low-residue meals; no effect....
Just because physicians-for-humans don't have a test for it doesn't mean it's psychological. I hate it when that assumption is made. And I work in healthcare. I am sorry you're getting that garbage. Have you had celiac serologies done?
And even if it does originate in the brain (somatization) doesn't mean that it's not real or that the brain can easily make it go away once it's here. Good luck. I had amazing success with accupuncture for a vague wrist complaint several years ago (I went in figuring that relaxation time would be worth the money if the needles did nothing as I expected and came out without wrist pain several sessions later), perhaps you will have similarly amazing results.
If you are at all interested in odd ball theories, I have one (my doc kept thinking I had it) but I know hearing these things and thinking about them takes energy so I'll wait for you to opt in.
Porphyria is what he kept worrying about since it presents wildly different symptoms in different people. Now, based on what you've said, the only symptom it seems you had from the list is vomiting but you might see others that you recognize if you start reading about it. Obviously the condition is fairly rare, but my abdominal pain (which I know you said you don't have) suggested to my PCL I might have it.
It's a long shot - so I'm not saying my uninformed suggestion has much weight.
I never actually got tested for it as things improved - and the porohyria specialist I spoke to at Brigham and Woman's thought it unlikely. However, it's an easy, if cumbersome test where you collect 24 hours worth of urine and it gets analyzed.
