I found the BSG finale to be extremely unsatisfying.  I'm not going to go into the myriad of reasons and list things one by one - which is unusual, because I usually do that.  I honestly can't find the time to care about it anymore.  It did not click with the rest of the show - granted, the entire 4.5 season did not click with the rest of the show ( Read more... )

Hmm maybe that's why I liked it so much despite its weaknesses, which were many. The character storylines were more important to me than the story as a whole? I'm just glad everybody found a home and I'm willing to forgive some deux ex machinas and other assorted angels.

Oh! And don't even get me started on how they completely butchered Cavil's character. First, being in ANY WAY convinced by Baltar of an ultimate power? Are you KIDDING me? Cavil had not seen any "miracles" that anyone else had.

THEN Cavil shooting himself when things got hairy?

AND THEN the whole idea that 30k people said, "OKAY GUYS" to the whole "going native" proposal is just crazy! I can see the main characters, the Cylons, Baltar's groupies going for it. I can't see the entire fleet going sure. What would have been more convincing is if half the fleet would have gone back to Caprica, etc now that the threat is over ( ... )
