I haven't been able to secure a place to stay in or near the city this weekend, so i think it's safe to stay at this point that i won't be going to the Subculture + Style Symposium at FIT after all. I'm really bummed about this, especially since Rick Owens is one of the speakers and the subject matter is everything a fashion-geek-ista like me could

I think because a lot of people do celebrate it. I like you don't really celebrate it but my bf and I have decided to go out to eat that night.

Also, Tatiana try the Carlton Arms (http://www.carltonarms.com/). I stayed there with Jamison and his siter when we stayed in NYC to see Daft Punk and the place was nice and clean and oh so artsy and very affordable for Manhattan. However, I do know you are a bit picky about your accommodations but this place is not bad at all. We got a room with a private bath which is a bit more expensive but wirth it. And you get to pick your room when you get there. We got a choice of three.
