It's not even summer yet so I can't imagine that the demand would be THAT much to cause prices to "skyrocket" like that. And I really like Bush's response to all of this. "Let's not tax the oil companies so that they can spend that money on developing alternative fuels." Um.. shouldn't they have already been spending their money on that and that would have come out of their profit since it would have been an expense? They aren't doing it. They don't have an incentive to do it. They see $$$$ instead. Greedy pricks. The car companies are going to (eventually) make all the advances with hybrids and cars that run on E85 and then where is that going to leave the oil companies? They are going to drag their feet and wait until the last minute when they are losing customers. Grrr... I'm not all that happen with the car industry either. They dragged their toes to but, at least, we have some other options out there.

I'm done with the ranting. I could go on for awhile but I'll spare you.

What ass heads.

Yes, we have two vehicles. Yes, I stay home. Yes, Studmuffin drives ten miles to work, stays there all day--eats lunch there--and drives home. About the only extra places we go is the library every other week or so and the grocery store.

If we conserved any more, we'd be looking to drive a horse and buggy.
