Experience with family is a key thing. Are all your joints having problems, or just the shoulders and ribs? Is there rheumatoid arthritis in your family? i know that with the diabetes, you are more prone to other autoimmune diseases.

Whew. I'm glad that they didn't find any of the scary stuff on the scan.

And seeing a specialist at this point... sounds like a really good idea. Did they see any signs of calcification/arthritis on the scan?
