Just finished catching up on yesterday's shows:
I had been sure this would be another "Nothing Good Happens After 2 AM"-esque episode, but it was surpisingly lighthearted considering what occured at the end of the last episode. I was super-pleased to see Will Forte in a guest appearance (as the rebound bro.) Overall, it was a fun episode. My only complaint is that I feel Stella was jusitified in her complaint against Ted-- he should not have told the gang Stella's secret. However, he quickly blames her frustration with him on her lack of commitment, which may be true but is besides the point. Sometimes I feel the show makes Ted too saintly, and this was certainly one of those cases. Stella deserved an apology from him, all joking aside.
This was probably the most high-caliber, writing-wise, episode of Bones to date. The interplay between characters during this particularly difficult situation had the makings of a John Grisham novel, and they milked it for all they could get. In fact, this episode was so full of all the good Bones stuff (minus a murder) I feel like it might have been better served over two episodes. They even had the perfect cliffhanger-- the not-Zac forensic guy finds a clue that may crumble the prosecution's case. They could have filled the other scenes with Brennan-family-bonding. However, I think the episode worked pretty phenomonally, which is very impressive for an episode that breaks from the formula. CSI couldn't do this! Bravo for Bones-- now where's our cannibal?
Also-- AM DONE! Will now attempt to proofread my screenplay, but may give up in favor of procrastination and it being the end of the semester. Thank goodness.
