Just finished the s4.5 specials. I was well-primed for Matt Smith, having watched the first 3 episodes of s5 before starting from the Eccleston run, but all the hours put in with Tennant have really taken it's toll ( Read more... )

Ten was an A+ Doctor, though I dearly love all the ones I've seen. The first part of The End Of Time was far from my favorite, minus Timothy Dalton's melodious voice, but I liked the second half and I love love LOVE Wilf. Personally, I thought Ten's departure was a bit self-indulgent, especially compared to Nine's, but it hit a lot of the right notes anyway, and I especially liked his farewells to Joan Redfern's granddaughter and Rose (though I ship Tom/Martha and want to know who was smoking what when they thought Martha/Mickey was a good idea). I was really disappointed in Donna's return and her total lack of closure, but at least there was a nice nod to her father and the actor who played him, which was a sweet moment for Sylvia ( ... )
