Ehhhhhhhh, everyone wants validation like all the time, but we get it from different sources. The younger you are (sometimes), the more you need it--for various reasons, some of which will make me sound like a cranky old fogey, so I'm not going to list them.

If I only tolerated you, I wouldn't talk to you on AIM all the time, that's for sure.
