For the first time in two (maybe more) weeks there is actual BLUE in the sky and this really bright light called, if I remember correctly, the sun. It's to get a break from the constant rain; it was starting to get depressing

Tell me about it. But to top it off it's freezing as well down here. Yesterday the sun was out for a brief period though. Lets see if she can do it again today.

Thanks for the vitamin D tip. I can't handle dairy products, so sunlight is my only source of vitamin D. Maybe that has something to do with craving milk in spite of that problem.
I know just what you mean, we were getting those same clouds all spring. At the end of March we were 6" below normal precipitation for the year after a cloudy dreary winter, now we are 6" above normal precipitation for the year. That means that we have made up the 6" we were short, gotten 6" of excess, and also the approximate 12" that would fall during April, May and June.
The fields are soggy or flooded, the hay crop is of poor quality, and all the other crops were planted late because of the weather. There are very few foals to be seen this year, I wonder if they are keeping them protected from the wet weather.
We did have sun today but the skies still had clouds from the storm that has been hovering off the coast and the blue was in patches. I think I've missed seeing blue in the skies more than I've missed the sun.
