Hi! I hope you don't mind if we get to know each other a bit. :) I see you are a fan of Scott and John, as I am. Do you post in any of the JB or Torchwood communities?
I post most often in the comms and in friends' journals. I don't post too often here in my own journal, and when I do, it's usually about cooking, my family and pets and other boring stuff. :)
Hiya! Of course I don't mind if we get to know each other first! Yes I am a HUGE John and Scott fan! I haven't actually posted anything specifically John/Scott yet, but I have written stories featuring them and their families. I spend most of my LJ time reading stuff other people write, although I'm trying my best to get a good fic up and going! I see a lot of people on LJ do one-shots of sorts, I might benefit from trying that for myself!
I just read your fic about a Cagelle-wannabe stealing John's letter to Scott. That was cute and I hope you're planning on posting another chapter at some point.
One shots are perfectly fine! You can come up with a central idea and complete it without being bogged down with multiple chapters that you don't have the time or inspiration to finish. If you can get a one-shot finished, you'll feel accomplished and it should give you a lot of confidence. And the more you write, the better you'll learn the craft. I'm sure you'll do just fine. :)
Oh, no problem! :) I just thought I'd give a yell since I saw it only a few minutes after it was posted. I don't think there was any harm done since she locked that post down quickly.
I went back to give her grief about it, though. Heee!
