Monday my sister flew to Bangkok. I only realised that she was trapped in Bangkok on Thursday cause I haven't been reading the news. Her return flight is supposedly Monday but now we don't know if she can

Sorry to hear about your grandmother. I agree -- November is turning out really horribly. Thank goodness it's coming to an end soon...Tomorrow will be a better day, I hope. It's absolutely frustrating to be reading about all these things happening in Singapore and Thailand and India and be stuck in a place where the newspapers are busy focussing on celebrities' lives. (With the exception of BBC, lah.)
