*achem* 300 is based on the graphic novel by Frank Miller. The graphic novel was based on a movie, the 300 Spartans, that he saw as a young man. That movie? Based on a book. That book?? Based on a legend. THAT LEGEND??? Based on historical fact centuries removed by word of mouth.

So, comparing 300 to history is like comparing Paris Hilton to Cleopatra. Hey! They're both chicks, right?
